1. Day: Getting to Trivandrum/Varkala
Today your journey to tropical South India begins. Leave the grey of the typical German November behind you and look forward to sunshine and pleasant temperatures.

2. Day: Arrival and hanging out in Varkala
Welcome to India!
Early in the morning, in the middle of the night, your plane lands in Trivandrum. You will be picked up at the airport and taken to the hotel. There you will have a room available and you can sleep for a few hours.
Today you will spend the day relaxing in Varkala Beach. A beautiful beach, many small restaurants and souvenir shops await you, and if you want, you can have a typical Indian shirt made to measure for little money by one of the numerous tailors.
3. Day: Test drive with the Enfields / ca. 50 km
Royal Enfield Classic
Definitely worth a photo, our well-preserved and well-maintained Royal Enfield Classic 500cc. With its robust single-cylinder engine and classic design, it is ideal for a motorcycle trip through India. It offers a relaxed seating position, reliable performance and easy maintenance - perfect for long distances and changing road conditions. Its nostalgic style combines with modern technology such as fuel injection and electric starter. The wide availability of spare parts and mechanics in India makes it a particularly practical choice for a motorcycle adventurer in India.
Today we will get the bikes out of the garage and set off on a first short test drive. You will have the opportunity to get to know different facets of Indian traffic.
4. Day: Trip to Munroe Island / ca. 90 km
After breakfast, it's time to pack up and set off on our first trip.
The Munroe Islands are a picturesque collection of small islands in Lake Ashtamudi. They are known for their tranquil atmosphere, dense mangrove forests and labyrinthine waterways. Here we enjoy a relaxing boat ride, traditional Kerala villages and untouched nature. The islands offer an insight into the simple, water-based life of the locals and are a popular destination for quiet excursions.
5. Day: Trip to Thekkady / ca. 150 km
Today we're heading to the mountains. The motorbike ride from Munroe Island to Thekkady is an unforgettable experience that offers breathtaking landscapes and cultural insights. The route leads through the lush green scenery of Kerala, past rice fields, coconut palms, picturesque villages and hills.
6. Day: Free day in Thekkady
The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a well-known nature reserve around Periyar Lake. It is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, tigers, deer and numerous species of birds. Guided walks through the Periyar reserve offer the opportunity to experience the diverse flora and fauna up close.
In addition to numerous souvenir shops, Thekkady has several Ayurveda centers where you can relax with a traditional Ayurvedic massage.
7. Day: Trip to Munnar / ca. 110 km
The route from Thekkady to Munnar is one of the most beautiful motorcycle routes in Kerala. It leads through the spectacular landscape of the Western Ghats with green hills, spice plantations, tea plantations and dense forests. The winding roads make the biker's heart beat faster and they offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. We drive through pepper, cardamom and vanilla plantations that fill the air with an aromatic scent.
8. Day: Sightseeing in and around Munnar / ca. 60 km
Munnar is a picturesque hill town at an altitude of about 1,600 meters, known for its endless tea plantations, fresh mountain air and tranquility. In the Tea Museum we can learn all about the history and production of tea. The trip to the Top Station takes us to a viewpoint with fantastic panoramic views of the valleys and cloud forests.
9. Day: Trip to Mettupalayam / ca. 195 km

The motorcycle ride from Munnar to Mettupalayam is a scenic route that leads from the hilly Western Ghats to the fertile plains of Tamil Nadu. The route offers a fascinating mix of green tea plantations, dense forests and impressive mountain landscapes. The road winds through the emerald sea of tea plantations surrounded by mist and mountains. On the way to the plains there are numerous switchbacks that give the ride that special something.
As we approach Tamil Nadu the landscape changes. The green hills of the mountain region give way to fertile fields, coconut palms and small villages.
Mettupalayam is located at the foot of the Nilgiri Mountains and is known as the starting point for the famous Nilgiri Mountain Railway. A visit to the station is worthwhile to see the charming blue trains.
10. Day: Trip to Mysore / ca. 175 km
The drive from Mettupalayam to Mysore via Ooty is an unforgettable experience that combines impressive mountain landscapes, dense forest and cultural diversity. The route passes through the Nilgiri Mountains and two famous protected areas, the Mudumalai and Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary.
The road from Mettupalayam to Ooty is known for its switchbacks and spectacular views. The winding descent from Ooty to the plains leads through dense forests with exotic bird species and small waterfalls. The Mudumalai Wildlife Park is home to elephants, deer, leopards and tigers. On the other side of the border, in Karnataka, the Bandipur National Park offers a similarly rich wildlife.
11. Day: Sightseeing in Mysore / ca. 100 km

Mysore, also known as the "City of Palaces", offers a fascinating mix of history, culture and nature. The city itself is home to the impressive Mysore Palace, which attracts visitors from all over the world with its majestic architecture and ornate details. The palace is particularly impressive in the evening hours when it is illuminated with thousands of lights. Another highlight is Chamundi Hill, on which the Chamundeshwari Temple stands. The view of Mysore from the top is breathtaking and the climb past the giant Nandi statue is an unforgettable experience. If you want to experience the vibrant local life, you should definitely visit the Devaraja Market, which is known for its colorful displays of spices and flowers.
12. Day: Trip to Belur / ca. 165 km
The drive begins with a short stretch from Mysore to Srirangapatna, a historic town that was once the capital of Tipu Sultan.
The drive continues on a scenic route to Srivanabelagola, one of the most important religious and historical places in southern India. The road passes through agricultural areas lined with paddy fields and green hills. The place is famous for the Bahubali Temple, which is located on a hilltop and features a huge, impressive statue of the Jain monk Bahubali. The climb to the temple involves 600 steps, but the views of the surroundings are worth the effort.
After visiting Srivanabelagola, we continue the journey to reach Belur, famous for its Chennakesava Temple, a masterpiece of Hoysala architecture. The drive there passes through picturesque villages and green hills before entering the historic town of Belur. Built in the 12th century, the Chennakesava Temple is known for its detailed sculptures and intricate decorations that reflect the history and culture of the Hoysala dynasty. The temple is not only a religious place but also an architectural marvel.
13. Day: Trip to Chitradurga / ca. 165 km
The drive from Belur to Chitradurga is mostly on well-maintained roads and offers a mix of urban and rural sections. The landscape changes along the way from hills and paddy fields to flat, sprawling plains dominated by agriculture. The drive is peaceful and relaxed, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and stop at small places.
Chitradurga is a historic town known for the impressive Chitradurga Fort. Chitradurga is also known for its rocky landscape and stunning views of the surrounding areas. We will explore the Chitradurga Fort, which is spread over several hills and has a fascinating history linked to the Marathas and the Karnataka region.
14. Day: Trip to Hospet/Hampi / ca. 130 km
Today we drive to Hospet, a town that serves as the gateway to Hampi. The roads are well maintained and pass through a mix of rural and urban areas. Along the way we pass through rolling hills, open fields and picturesque villages. The drive is quiet and pleasant, with little traffic on the major roads.
15. Day: Hospet/Hampi / ca. 50 km
Hampi is a truly magical place, famous for its imposing ruins that bear witness to the Vijayanagar dynasty. The monumental rocks and temples make the place unique and offer one of the most impressive archaeological landscapes in the world.
The surroundings of Hampi are also unique, with huge rocks scattered across the plains and the green banks of the Tungabhadra River. The stunning rock landscape, bathed in golden hues at sunset, makes Hampi an unforgettable destination. There are numerous hiking trails that lead to viewpoints from which one can overlook the entire landscape of ruins.
16. Day: Trip to Goa / ca. 330 km

The journey from Hampi to Goa takes us through the vast landscapes of Karnataka and the picturesque Western Ghats mountains before we reach the coast. On the way we enjoy varied landscapes, from rural areas to tropical forests. As soon as we reach the coast, a completely different picture opens up: green plantations and golden beaches, the ideal place to end our trip.
17. Day: Goa

Colva Beach is located on the south coast of Goa, about 30 km from Panaji and just a few kilometers from the town of Margao. The beach is known for its fine white sand and crystal clear waters. Unlike the crowded, more touristy beaches in north Goa, Colva offers a relaxed atmosphere.
The beach is lined with palm trees and the calm waters are good for swimming or boating. Water sports such as jet skiing and parasailing are also available, while the cute little beach cafes and restaurants serve delicious, local Goan dishes. Colva is perfect for a relaxed beach holiday with the opportunity to enjoy the local culture and gastronomy.
In the evenings, the beach turns into a beautiful spot for sunsets, with the golden colors of the sky reflecting the calm sea.
18. Day: Goa

The Portuguese had a profound influence on Goa, which was a Portuguese colony for over 450 years, from 1510 until Indian independence in 1961. The Portuguese influence still shapes many aspects of Goa, from architecture to religion to cuisine and culture.
Religious missionary work was a central concern of the Portuguese. Catholic missionaries, including the famous Franciscan and Jesuit Francis Xavier, spread Catholicism in the region. Many churches and monasteries were built in Goa, and some of them, such as the Basilica of Bom Jesus (which houses the remains of Francis Xavier), are now UNESCO World Heritage sites.
We will eat together one last time this evening and enjoy Goan cuisine. At night your plane will fly back home.
19. Day: Flight home
